I’m participating in reading challenges for the first time. I read through A Novel Challenge, a wonderful blog, and selected several challenges of interest. So here goes; I’m joining the following:

2010 Chunskter Challenge
Definition of a Chunkster:
- A chunkster is 450 pages or more of ADULT literature (fiction or nonfiction)
- If you read large type books your book will need to be 525 pages or more
I will be joining at the Chubby Chunkster level. This is the first level where one commits to reading 3 Chunksters from February 1, 2010 to January 31, 2011. I will read Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel (532 pages), The Good Soldier Svejk by Jarslav Hasek (The Everyman’s Library edition of 864 pages) and The Historian (656 pages) by Elizabeth Kistova. I might attempt to read The Tin Drum by Gunter Grass again, in which case I will bump up to the level 2.
What’s in a Name?3 Challenge
Beth F is running this challenge. Between January 1 and December 31, 2010, participants are to read one book each with words in the title from the following categories: food, body of water, title, plant, place name and music term. My pool of books are:

African Diaspora Reading Challenge
Browngirl is hosting this wonderful challenge.
