April was quite an eventful month what with the National Poetry Month (US), the Read-a-thon and the BIP Bingo Assignment. I read 10 books in April.
- The Stone Virgins by Yvonne Vera
- The Time of the Doves by Merce Rodoreda
- African Love Stories edited by Ama Ata Aidoo
- The Dumas Club by Arturo Perez-Reverte
- Sugar by Bernice Mcfadden
- Damballah by John Edgar Wideman
- God Dies by the Nile by Nawal el Saadawi
- The Cry of Winne Mandela by Njabulo Ndebele
- Quicksand by Nella Larsen
- House of Day, House of Night by Ogla Tokaczuk
I’m behind in my reviews and will catch up in the coming weeks. I haven’t had time to firm up any reading plans for May. I have finished Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel and I’m now reading The Solitude of Prime Numbers by Paolo Giordano. It seems the poetry I selected to celebrate National Poetry Month (US) was a success so I will feature one Poem of The Week on the blog going forward.
I’m glad you decided to feature one poem a week :-).
I’m curious to hear what you thought of Wolf Hall, but also all the other books that are still awaiting your review. And I hope Solitude.. doesn’t disappoint.
