Sunday Thoughts and Updates: Wrap-up of Ghana Literature week

My Ghanaian Literature Week has come to an end.  It was a lot of fun.  I would like to thank the bloggers who took part – Amy Reads, ImageNations, Geosi Reads, Winstonsdad’s Blog and Contraband Marriage.  I mostly definitely will do this again.  I’ve learned a few things so:

  1. When I set a date, I will make sure not to change it 🙂
  2. I will publicize the event at least two months in advance to give people who want to participate ample time to find and read books
  3. this is extra. I will spread the love around the continent.  So next time, I will pick a different African country

  4. New readers of African writing. You may have seen the piece in The Zimbabwean on ‘No Serenety Here’, a volume of African verse translated into Chinese.
    The article includes the following: ‘The Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka of Nigeria, South Africa’s National Poet Laureate Keorapetse Kgositsile, Veronique Tadjo (Cote d’Ivoire), and Ama Ata Aidoo (Ghana) are some of Africa’s literary elders gracing the anthology ….’

  9. I ended up not putting up the review, the notice was too short. Thanks for the reviews to all those who posted. I have just ordered True Murder by Yaba Badoe. I’ll look for some in my local library too. Thanks for organizing this Kinna.
