“How We Forget” By Loyce Gayo

This exchange on Twitter caught my attention:

Badilisha Poetry X-Change is “an online audio archive and  Pan-African poetry show delivered in radio format. Badilisha has showcased and archived over 350 poets” (profile at @Badilishapoetry). Their website is well worth a visit.

Dela reviews African poetry at Afrikan Soulja, which he excels at; I depend on Dela for introductions to African poets I often miss in my radar sweeps. Long short, his reply to the Badilisha tweet piqued my interest.

Loyce Gayo, from Tanzania, is currently studying at University of Texas at Austin. She won the 2014 College Unions Poetry Slam with her poem “How We Forget”.  You can read Dela’s superb review of the poem here.

Enjoy.
