Life gets hectic, very hectic, and I allow myself a pass from blogging because, of course, life will get back to normal shortly as soon as this phase, project, issue, stress is dealt with. Except things never let up and a month, a year goes by and well…
I miss blogging. Not only is life getting in the way but time is also stealing itself away from my reading. And that simply won’t do.
But this much-needed vacation can’t seem to scheduled itself. I have to accept that this is the new normal. I must read and blog through it. Period.
The List
So last week sometime, Nana Fredua of ImageNations DM’ed me about a new series featuring readers and their Top Ten African Books. When it comes to blogging series, Nana and I are each other’s go-to-person. Except my suggestions are always fun. It was all sorts of torture, as expected, working on a list of just ten books. In the end, I submitted 14 books after hours spent agonizing and moaning. My list was published today.

The good thing is working on Nana’s request got me thinking about blogging and so well, here I am. Hoping it sticks.
Reading
My reading is lamentable. But never mind. I’ve started The Spider King’s Daughter by Chibundu Onuzo and I’m loving it already. Chibundu and another Nigerian writer Emmanuel Iduma, came through Accra last month and it was a treat hearing them read. African literature is going to more than alright, I tell you.

Ha, Kinna, I just may go away from blogging to polish up one or two manuscript for possible publication. 🙂 I need to pick up my reading too. The list is up to the ceiling now 🙂 Currently reading Emecheta’s Head Above Water.
